Facing Potential Total Loss?

If/when a vehicle is approaching the actual cash value that may end up "totalling" the car, go to the "Details" tab when requesting quotes.  Then be sure to check the box next to "Is the Vehicle at risk of total loss?" and add a comment.

Top Performers Achieve Higher Sales

Suppliers with a 4.0-star rating or higher in PartsTrader sell an average of 60% more parts through PartsTrader than those with ratings of 3.5 stars or below.
Ratings are based on feedback from the collision repair shops that you serve. If you take care of your customers, they will give you high ratings and, in essence, recommend you to their peers.
Here are some tips to help you maintain a high Overall Rating in PartsTrader:
  • Respond to Quote Requests, especially if they are from a Preferred Repairer shop.
  • Quote Multiple Parts Options if you have more than one part option that might serve a repair shop's need. Click More and then select Add Multiple Options to create a new part line item.
  • Reduce Returns and Avoid Misunderstandings. Add comments or photos to clarify what you have available.
  • Confirm Orders Promptly, and verify pricing and delivery time when you confirm those orders.

What does the Insurance Company See?

A new enhancement to PartsTrader now gives a precise answer to this question. While our promise to the industry has always been that we do not share buy prices with insurance auditors, repair shops can now look to the Job Summary and clearly see the entire job history in a choice of what we call Insurer View or Repairer View.
These views clearly lay out the history for each part required for a given job, and you can track the steps from the moment it was uploaded from your estimating system until it was received (or returned, if that's the case.)

The key distinction between these two views is that the Insurer View shows the prices at LIST, while the Repairer View shows the actual BUY prices quoted and selected.

Business Hours Expanding?

We are hearing from an increasing number of repair shops who are running two shifts or even around the clock to reduce cycle time; or who stagger shifts to extend their workday. A recycler recently told us that he has extended his hours as well, to serve those shops that are looking for parts early in the morning, later in the day, and even on weekends.

Is this a trend across the country? We'd like to know more about whether your business has modified its business hours in recent years. Take a moment to share your thoughts on this subject...we'll share the results summary in next month's newsletter.

See us in Nashville - Booth 409

Touch base with the PartsTrader team at the ARA Convention & Expo in Nashville this week. This event is a great opportunity to share your experience with PartsTrader, pick up some tips from our staff, and learn what's new.
We invite recyclers attending this conference to join us for a light breakfast on Thursday between 7-8am.
